What is The Rock Lock?
The Rock Lock is one of the first Anti-Theft devices for Guitarists. It is meant to prevent a crime of opportunity, and also keep the drunk guy who knows "Stairway" off your axe while you break at gigs.
Why would you use The Rock Lock?
To prevent your guitar from being stolen. This could be anywhere from a club gig to dormrooms to tradeshows.
Where do you use The Rock Lock?
The Rock Lock was originally designed for gigging guitarists, but many other uses have been chosen by our customers including Guitar Shop Owners, Dorms, Studios, Hostels, Trade Shows, Exhibits, Cars after Gigs, etc.
What size Guitars does The Rock Lock NOT fit?
The inside of The Rock Lock is 2-1/8" Wide and 7/8" tall. This accommodates almost all 6 String standard Acoustic and Electric Guitars. This does NOT accommodate Flamenco, Nylon string, or Spanish guitars. 12 Strings and Basses may fit depending on the width of the neck.
Is The Rock Lock Nitro-safe?
We have not done extensive testing on Nitro-Cellulose necks, so at this point it is not recommended.
Can't you just clip the cable and steal the guitar?
Good Question. The cable of The Rock Lock is made from Braided Stainless Steel, and can withstand most hand held wire cutting devices, which most people do not happen to carry around. The unfortunate truth is that if someone is pre-emptively planning to steal your guitar, there is not much to be done besides a gun safe. The Rock Lock is meant to prevent a CRIME OF OPPORTUNITY, meaning a guitar sitting on a stage or anywhere else with no one around.
